It's another take-it-easy weekend. I know, I groused about taking it easy for too many weekends in a row. Then travel for 6 days followed by busy-ness for a few days after getting back home tired me out. By Friday I was genuinely ready just to take it easy this weekend. And that's what I'm doing. So far. On Saturday this weekend I watched four episodes of Breaking Bad. Normally I don't like bingeing TV that much. ...And it wasn't just the ~4 hours of Breaking Bad I watched; I also watched 2 episodes of Lucifer, planting myself in front of the TV for almost 6 hours total. It's been yet-another take-it-easy weekend. That's both a good thing and a bad thing. Good, because it's enjoyable to relax at home, both alone (just the two of us) and with low-key friends. After a busy day Thursday and especially Friday I hit the skids pretty hard once I wrapped up my short business trip last night. Even before I left LA I was flagging pretty badly. It's been HOT out here in the SF Bay Area. Records are falling all around the area. San Francisco set a record for this date at 97°. That's also the hottest day this year in SF. San Jose set a record at 103°, San Rafael 107°. Here in Sunnyvale it hit 101° F (38° C) today. And it's not just today. Yesterday was hot, too, thought not quite as hot as ( Read more... )

As I planned, this has been a taking-it-easy weekend. I started (kinda) with a soak in the hot tub Friday afternoon before finishing up work for the day. And I finished it up Sunday (kinda) with another soak in the hot tub.

After going out hiking last weekend, and especially with Hawk recovering from minor surgery this weekend, it's a perfect time for a stay-home, take-it-easy weekend. Even more perfect, the weather's still warm! Even though it's Autumn now our warm weather generally lasts through September and sometimes at least halfway through October.
